Our Mission

 
ISEF is dedicated to the education, promotion, and sharing of research and solutions in sustainability and resilience, and provides a platform for such for educational institutions, public entities and private industries.  Connecting and educating all perspectives on education and sustainability and providing a resource in which all that knowledge is available to everyone is key to the mission of the Foundation.  These goals fall neatly into three categories and most cross all three areas.

International

We strive to connect the best in the world – sharing ideas and options across boarders and cultures. ISEF is dedicated to the education, promotion, and sharing of research and solutions in sustainability and resilience, and provides a platform for such for educational institutions, public entities and private industries.  Connecting and educating all perspectives on education and sustainability and providing a resource in which all that knowledge is available to everyone is key to the mission of the Foundation.

Sustainability

Matching skills and ideas with community needs is important to our work. These range from building practices, planning decisions, and energy use, to food security, water use, educational seminars and transportation solutions. We do this through workshops, partnerships, conferences, lectures, publications, and digital information sharing. By connecting people from around the world and around the corner with new – and sometimes old – technology and lifestyle choices we can make this a better and more sustainable place to live: for us and for the children who will inherit what we build.

Education

ISEF creates environments that enable learning through workshops, programs which extend over months, and through our publications and sharing of other organisations’ knowledge.  We believe that making education sustainable is a matter of looking at it from a different perspective and making it accessible and applicable.

International Sustainability Education Foundation Mission Statement

  • The International Sustainability Education Foundation will offer a non partisan venue for solution based sustainable ideas to be shared and developed. Primary focus will be on education, urban issues, business and technology, ecosystem services and planning, and civic engagement.
  • The International Sustainability Education Foundation will focus on Resilient and Sustainable Urban Design and Planning practices which will find real solutions for growing cities around the world.
  • The International Sustainability Education Foundation will offer venues for sustainable solutions to both urban design and education through education from public school to post graduate studies and by working with the best professionals in the field.
  • The International Sustainability Education Foundation will strive to act as a moderator between public and private education systems to find sustainable solutions to challenges in methodology and pedagogy.
  • The International Sustainability Education Foundation will offer regular workshops which will bring together the world’s best experts in Sustainability and Resilience and will publish the results of these workshops making the knowledge available to all.

 

 

International Sustainability Education Foundation Activities & Services

  • Offer regular international focused research workshops.
  • Create and support innovate educational opportunities in a wide range of venues and focused on a wide range of participants.
  • Coordinate partnerships between public and private systems to enable programs and workshops to become self-sustaining and resilient.
  • Offer educational information and solutions via publications, seminars, workshops and conferences – with a focus on urban issues, business and technology, ecosystem services and planning, and civic engagement.
  • Partner with other institutions and foundations in promoting solutions to urban issues, business and technology, ecosystem services and planning, and civic engagement.
  • Engage the best experts worldwide to create a forum where ideas and solutions related to urban issues, business and technology, ecosystem services and planning, and civic engagement can be both shared and debated.
  • Publish all information available in a format accessible to all who are interested providing a publicly available resource on knowledge relating to  urban issues, business and technology, ecosystem services and planning, and civic engagement.
